Medical Gas Certifications and Annual Inspections of medical gas systems

Annual Inspections are designed to meet the requirements outlined by JCAHO, NFPA 99 and AAAHC requirements.

Universal Medical Gas, Inc Provides comprehensive Annual Inspection and medical gas certification service through testing of the following areas

Testing of Medical gas outlets/ inlets- checking all outlets- leakage, flow, pressure, damage and wear. Particular attention is paid to critical care areas (CCU, NICU, ICU, Recovery, Surgery, and ER).
Shut off Valves- External leakage test and operation test
Area and Master alarms- Activate all audible and visual test buttons, check panel gauges / Pressure read outs and compare to line pressures.
Labeling- Inspection for proper gas labeling, correct directional floe rooms controlled, Warning signs and displays, and proper color coding.
Positive pressure contamination- Test for contamination in the pipeline (example Scale moisture or particulate matter) – Solid particulate
Gaseous contamination- Test for all gaseous contaminates to the allowable limits set by the NFPA.
Dew point and CO monitor- Test audible and visual signals.
Bulk liquid Systems- Test operation of reserve and reserve in use signal. Test proper level operation switch.
Vacuum System – Conduct Performance tests. Function test automatic alternating controls, correct operation of vacuum switch. Check for frequency of pump starts and duration of runs and cut in/out. Check hour meters for requires maintenance schedule in accordance with manufacturer instructions. Test audible and visual signals.
Moisture removal system- Check for proper operation of after cooler, dryer drains, receiver drains, sight gauges ECT.
Manifold Systems- Test proper function of the reserve in use switch. Test operation of changeover to secondary supply. Leak check valve, Pigtails, Regulators. Inspect pigtails for physical damage.
Pressure Gauges- Test accuracy and function of all pressure gauges.
